ROAD BLOCKS

Resource constraints

Soon we sped up the workflow by incorporating advanced Figma functionalities and plugins that allowed us to accomplish more.

PROCESS

I approached the project with a deep-dive into the world of underwriting. I invited a subject matter experts to talk to my team about their work and answer questions. Each session helped us get a clearer picture, yet this picture got increasingly complex as we realized how much manual work the underwriters do and how much flexibility they had in their approach. These sessions made us appreciate the work they did and empathize with their needs.

RESULTS

While the application is still in development, the MVP was released to great reviews from business partners and underwriters alike, poised to save the company millions as the workflow becomes more efficient and quicker to train the new underwriters.

The members of my team helped each other as they deepened their knowledge of the insurance business and sharpened their technical skills which build trust and led to improved speed and quality which was carried over to the new projects.
